ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT / RECEPTIONIST
Location: Rives Junction, Michigan
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (flexible and negotiable)

Position Description:
As part of the Youth Haven support team, the Administrative Assistant will greet guests in person and on the phone, and will assist with key areas such as program scheduling, volunteer engagement, special events, donor care, and other needs. Specific responsibilities will be primarily administrative in nature, with opportunities to contribute creatively in each of these areas of our mission.

Must love Jesus and have an active, growing relationship with Him!

Have a passion and vision to reach children for Christ, specifically disadvantaged children ages 7-13

Have a sincere and deep commitment to Youth Haven's mission and core values, understanding Youth Haven’s purpose as a home missions organization

Be evangelistic and missions focused, desiring to be part of a “seed-sowing” ministry focused on teaching the Gospel message to children who may never hear of Jesus Christ elsewhere

Be a friendly, creative, and engaging individual who can function well within a team environment and interact warmly with guests
-
2 or 4 year degree from an accredited college or university preferred, or several years of comparable work experience

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be detail oriented and efficient with data entry; a good time manager

Willing to talk on the phone

Photography experience a plus

Understanding of the every day struggles our children are facing and able to show empathy and God's love to parents

Flexibility in work schedule is important as some Youth Haven functions take place during evenings or weekends

Highly proficient and comfortable using computers and technology, especially with MS Office products. Salesforce knowledge and experience a plus
Principal Responsibilities:

Welcome visitors to the Michigan/Corporate Office
-
Answer incoming telephone calls
-
Manage event registrations prior to several of Youth Haven’s annual events, including Ladies’ Day and the Candlelight Dinners. This entails receiving the registrations, entering the information into the database, and responding with tickets and confirmations.

Assist with the processing of incoming gifts in kind that are received in the office or through the mail

Assist with coordinating Youth Haven’s toy drive, including preparing the bags of toys for the children each weekend during the Christmas season

Assist with data entry of donations

Assist with daily mail pickup

Assist with Program Scheduling and Volunteer Engagement in the following ways:

Assist with entering detailed information regarding volunteer and children’s program activities into Youth Haven’s database

Assist with reminder phone calls to children’s parents/guardians before every children’s retreat
-
Assist with registration at the start of each children’s retreat, which may require working outside of regular business hours

Assist with mailing correspondence to parents, agencies, and volunteers

Assist with volunteer scheduling and management of volunteers on site

Assist with scheduling of meetings, tour groups, hayrides, and other requests that come into the office

​Assist with taking pictures of the children’s program, volunteer engagement, special events, and other aspects of Youth Haven’s ministry

Other responsibilities may be given as requested by Youth Haven’s leadership team
