DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Location: Michigan - Hybrid Position

Position Description:
The Director of Development is responsible for the implementation of an effective and comprehensive fundraising program for Youth Haven's ministry to disadvantaged children. Strategic priorities include: significantly increasing annual fund giving; increasing major and planned giving; creating a program to address donor retention and acquisition, and seeking foundation funding prospects, all in an effort to reach more children for Christ.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Must love Jesus and have an active, growing relationship with Him!

Have a passion and vision to reach children for Christ, specifically disadvantaged children ages 7-13

Have a deep commitment and alignment with Youth Haven's mission and values
-
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

A track record of establishing successful sustainable fundraising programs
-
Creative problem solving and analytical skills
-
Business acumen and fiscal responsibility with an ability to “ask” and “close”

Excellent leadership skills and presence with the ability to engage and inspire others

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be a self-starter and goal-oriented leader with the capacity to manage multiple priorities with attention to details

Able to maintain a flexible schedule and work as needed outside of standard working hours, including some nights and weekends to accomplish development goals and objectives

Knowledge of fundraising and donor management technology; Salesforce knowledge a plus

Willingness to travel to Arizona and other states regularly as needed
Principal Responsibilities:

With the President, set priorities, goals, and strategies for Youth Haven’s annual fundraising plan with the goal of increasing ministry support and the number of donors partnering with Youth Haven

Secure and increase financial support from individuals, churches, businesses, and foundations

Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with mid-level and major donors with the goal of sharing ministry needs and asking for support

As a member of the leadership team, exemplify Youth Haven's integrity and vision, and become well versed in its mission in order to share this information with current and potential donors and ministry partners

Demonstrate high ethical standards in leadership and fundraising and comply with all regulations and laws

Perform other duties as needed
